My question is, if I want to have 8gig or more of ram, what configuration should I run it in, ie, 2 sticks, 3 sticks(?) or more?

Hopefully going to OC to around 4GHz or slightly over...

If my above memory isn't to standard, what would you recommend.

Budget of around £60 -£80

Thanks

That RAM is fine for Sandy Bridge as it's 1.5V and 1600MHz (which is as fast as you need).

You would use all 4 sticks, filling all 4 RAM slots, giving you 8GB (2 pairs in dual channel mode).

If you want more than 8GB you're going to have to start replacing the sticks you have.

8GB is plenty for most people so unless you have need for more I'd just use what you have and don't spend anything on RAM.

I have the memory that RJC suggested with my sandybridge setup and its brilliant never
caused me a problem up to yet. (touch wood)

If you are going to get some more that would be my suggestion as well.

you might aswell upgrade to 16gb if you have the cash as ram is so cheap at the moment :)

Just done this. Bought some 8gb patriot stuff.

If you are buying 8gb ram though that corsair vengeance white with the low profile is only £2 more with lower rated voltages? Though the XMS3 stuff is very popular an people dont seem to have many issues.
