Hi all,

Got my CPU on an Asus V Gene mobo and trying to get a decent OC out of it (Bear in mind im pretty new to this).

Ive set my multiplier at x45 and it shows in the bios that the target CPU turbo mhz should be 4500. However when I go into windows and CPUID its stuck at x42 ??

Any ideas

Thanks

If it helps to come up with a solution, I've just used the auto cpu level up and it's now running at 4409mhz. However, multiplier is still x42 ?!.

It's raised the bus speed to 105 but I want this at 100, so I'm guessing that's where the extra cpu MHz come from ?

and on those settings its stuck at x42 ? .. Also worth a mention is if I lower the multiplier to lower than x42 its still x42 ?! weird ..

Right, loaded up optimised defaults in bios and set multiplier to x34, this has worked and dropped the mhz.

Just wondering if the i5 is locked at a max of x42

Loading the optimised defaults seems to have sorted it !. I can now run x45 with a 100FSB.

Now to sort the offset voltage, I seem to be stable at -0.065, so far.
