i5 2500k overclock on water

Have got to 4.8GHz and temp are okay but need 1.45 volts of vcore to get there. PLL is 1.8 and VCCIO is 1.05volts. Ram is at the default of 1.65 volts.

Temps stay below 60 degrees in games. Is there any point in trying for 5GHz? Is there any other setting I could try to reduce vcore?
 
Whats the load line calibration at? When under load what vcore is reported? If its significantly lower than 1.45v then you may just need to set the LLC higher to compensate for the droop, hence a lower vcore needed.
1.45v is a bit much imo. Would also knock the RAM down to 1.5-1.56v if it can, doubt 1.65 will do any damage to the IMC really but if it can go lower, why not.

Can try dropping Ram to 1.5 but it was 1.65 by default.

Avoid offset voltage if you value your cpu.

To reduce Vcor and to go higher try tuning VCCIO and PLL. I doubt you will see 5g though but maybe 4.9 is a target. Leave the RAM volts 1.65v is fine!! I have never seen degradation of SB IMC with 1.85V+ so 1.65 is ok!!!!!!!
 
Turning off Internal PLL overvoltage seems to help as well. Can boot with any multiplier as well with it off (tried up to 56x).

I got my 2500k to 5Ghz but volts were too high.

I sometimes wonder if I can up it from 4.5 but think I wouldn't notice the difference in games anyway.
 
In gaming not a massive difference for sure!!

Seriously though forget Prime and IBT and just use your system with monitoring software running for temps. Prime etc just synthetic silicon bashers. No need!!!
