Afternoon All,

Apologies for this but I'm somewhat of a CPU overclocking noob. I have only just overclocked (I know I know...) my I5 2500K from 3.3ghz to 4.2ghz on air cooling (I have an old Artic Freezer cooler). My question is around temps.

Is around 70-75 degrees on full load too high? What should I be aiming for in terms of temps for the overclock?

Thanks in Advance

If you benchmark the machine on full load and incrementally reduce vcore until you get crashes you might be able.to get them down a.bit more though as mentioned 76c at full load isn't too bad.

Many 2500ks run at 4.5 with modest cooling so you should be able to increase your 4.2 fairly easily.

Mines been on 4.5 for 6 years!
