i5 2500k overclocking problem ?

i am using a 15 2500k cpu , and i have it on a msi gen 3 mobo , problem is overclocking , when i run linx the cpu clock goes from 4.2 ghz to 4.7 at random times , i set the oc at 4.7 what do i need to disable on the mobo or cpu to stop it under then over cloking ?

seems to do do 4.7 with 100 runs in linx nps , but as soon as i set it to 4.8 blue screen after a few seconds, tried upping voltage and nothing , anything else i should try and adjust?

It sound like it's throttling back due to overheating or lack of power.

What CPU cooler and PSU do you have?

temps dont go above 67oc and psu is a brand new corsair 850 watt cooler is artic freezer 13

Have you adjusted the CPU power options in the BIOS?

You may need to change some/all of the following:

Long Duration Power Limit (W)

Long Duration Maintained (ms)

Short Duration Power Limit (W)

Primary/Secondary Plane Turbo Power Limit (W)
