Hi lads,I have the i5 2500k(obviously) and a Z68XP-UD3P m/board.
My question is in regards to a quick/fast overclock.Im not wanting to push the ** Please do not disguise swear words ** out of it just get stable O/C.
I've read tons of post's on the issue and aint fussed about messing with voltages n the like.
Is it best to just change the multiplier to x42(thats my desired speed)or change each individual core speed?.
Looking at BIOS defaults the multiplier is at x33 and core speeds are-
core 1-37
core 2-36
core 3-35
core 4-34.
Do i just up each core to say like-
1-43
2-42
3-41
4-40-----or put all cores at 42?
without touching multiplier.
cheers.
oh and by the way I have the Antec kuler H20 620 watercooler.

just set cpu voltage to normal

set pci/bclk to 100
set dvid to +0.015v
set cpu multi to 45x

45x (4.5ghz)is an easy oc and what id aim for

stress cpu in prime95 or intel burn test high stress and look in cpu-z to see what load cpu voltages are, stay below 1.4v and below 80c coretemps

cant seem to be able to adjust DVID,and the BCLK/PCI dont seem to be available either??.
ive just gone back to change each core again and left x alone.just changed main graphic from onboard to pcie/hpet to 64bit.touched nowt else f/knows bud

Dvid unlocks when you set CPU v to normal in CPU voltage list,if it won't then reflash the same BIOS as sometimes it sticks and ain't adjust

If you have reflashed the BIOS to a later version then you no longer have the same control on Sandy chips as the older (F6) BIOS.

I believe I have the same board and chip as you but when I bought the board from Stulid on here he had to put the old BIOS on for me and my 2500k.
