Quite a few questions here hoping to get cleared up :)

1. I seem to be on 1.385v Vcore and can't even get stable when running 5-10 intel burn test runs.
Usually fails on the 4th or 5th.
I am using the 2.51 version and have SP1 installed so it is using AVX so i'm receiving 110-120GFlops.
So will using the AVX instruction introduce more stress onto the chip?

2.I am hitting low 80c in IBT. I know the TJ max is around 98c but is 80c not too high?

3.Would a h70 equipped with 2 Akasa Apaches out perform my Titan fenrir with AS5?

I'll probably come up with some more questions as the day goes on but I am going to download IBT v2.50 as this doesn't use AVX and see if I can get stable.

Turns out using AVX instructions puts much more stress on the CPU.

Just ran Linx for 10 runs which doesn't use AVX instructions and it completed without errors.

But I did reach 87C on the 3rd core?

I am doing 4.5ghz with 45x and 100.5 BCLK with 1.385. Going to put my vcore down to 1.370 and try linx again.

Maybe you've got a chip that just needs more vcore. Some of the guys you see with low vcore either have good chips or have different standards for stability. Personally I can't seem to get stable with anything over 4.4ghz regardless of however much vcore I set.

It's pobably not a cooler issue, unless the contact isn't great. I have an Akasa Freedom Tower (certainly no better tham yours) with AS5 and at 4.4ghz I hit 71degress on a 10xmax IBT. your vcore does seem a bit high, is it on auto?

im in same boat as Max3
4.4ghz seems to be limit for my i5, keeping vcore below 1.35v
still a good boost in performance :)
I just used prime95 to test stability, passsed 12 hours, was happy

Have you tried changing the multi to 44? i bet you could get it as low as 1.3-1.32 V and see massive drop in temps down to like 62C - 65C?

We are predicted quite a hot summer (are'nt we every year lol ) so might be good to have some head room, dropping 100mhz and getting big drop in temps is sometimes a very good decision.

No idea about the Fenrir but I have the H50 with 2 akasa vipers push pull & my LinX/IBT run maxes out at 70C on the hottest core.
Thats running @ 5Ghz & 1.32 vcore.
If I use the AVX instructions I get 135-136 GFlops but the temps hit 80ish C.

Have you set Internal PLL Overvoltage to 'Enabled' in bios?
That usually gives another +5 multipliers once you've found your multi limit without it.

Seems like my PLL overvoltage might not be enabled.

So do you find your multi limit by leaving everything at Auto and just upping the Multi until BSOD or errors?

I'm on 1.375 vcore @ 4.6ghz and it's priming at the moment.
Has been going 2 and a half hours no errors but max of 77C.

Definitely doing something wrong or just a seriously bad chip :(
