i5 2500k Quick Sync?

Hi,

I have an i5 2500k and Asrock Extreme 4 Gen 3 MB. I was playing around with some settings in the LAV codec and noticed I could use Intel Quick Sync. But when I try and turn it on, it says it not available.

Is there any drivers or bios setting I need to change to enable quick sync?

If you have a P67 Extreme 4 Gen 3 you can't use Quick Sync at all.

If you have a Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 then you need to be using the integrated GPU.

If you have a discrete graphics card then I think you need to be using Lucid Virtu so that your monitor is connected to the motherboard's output and the integrated GPU is working.
