Hi all

Just built my new rig consisting of a an ASus P67 Sabertooth + i5 2500K 3.3Ghz + Askaka Venom cooler.

Its currently overclocked to 4.4Ghz. I noticed though that in speed fan Core 1 is running about 3c higher than Core 0,2,3. Is that maybe because the thermal paste isnt spread well enough? Or does 1 core usually run abit higher?

As i type now these are the readings from speed fan and CPU-Z

VCore 1.016 V
Core Speed 1681.0MHz
Multiplier x 16

Core 0 - 33c
Core 1 - 38c
Core 2 - 30c
Core 3 - 33c

The temps on core 0,2 and 3 vary about +/- 3c every few seconds but Core 1 remains a slightly higher but more stable temp of around 37/38c

Anything to be worried about?

Temps often differ between cores. It is the load temps that really matter though. Download your self either Prime 95 or Intel Burn Test to test load temps on your cpu.

Cool, il give that a go. I tried Prime95 and got temps of around 58/60c

So probably nothing to worry about then?

I've got the vcore at around 1.158v @ 4.4Ghz x42.
From what I've read that's quite a good result?

Yes, that's very good. On mine I need 1.31v at least to get to 4.4Ghz :(

Don't worry about the difference in core temps, it's normal. On mine, core 1 temp at idle is around 28c but core 2's temp on idle is always at 25c and then the biggest difference is core 4's which idle's at 30c.
