Hi all my sister has been using my first rig I built for over 6 years now and with the exception of the GPU which is a Rx 580 8gb (she bought this 2 years ago that I also installed for her ) needs a complete upgrade

The old rig is
I5 2500k
Asrock z68 I believe
Crucial 64gb ssd
Seagate Barracuda 3tb HDD
Antec true power new 650w Psu
Zalman z9 plus case

Only the GPU was replaced since I made this year's ago originally she had my 7970 3gb but that failed so I swapped it out for the rx580

She uses the pc to exclusively play final fantasy 14 chat with friends on discord

She has a 1080p/60hz monitor but is having to run the game at 720p so I'm guessing the CPU is bottlenecking the 580

She's keeping the GPU but wants to change everything else and of course wants RGB on the case like her partner's pc lol

Judging by how old the rig is she's in a position where every chip from AMD or intel is gonna be a big upgrade but wants the cost to not be sky high and wants me to keep it under £400 for everything if possible but could increase to £500

I'm leaning towards the ryzen 5600 at the moment but as I upgraded mine to the 5800 a few years back haven't really paid much attention to hardware so I'm not sure if that's still the best bang for the buck or if intel have any chips that are great value. Last time I was looking everyone was suggesting AMD for performance per pound

I know the mobo ram and CPU is gonna take most of the budget so I'm gonna have to get creative with trying to get case and storage and a reliable PSU in there too I'll probably go over budget but I'm sure she'll get the family discount when she pays me back

Merry Christmas all and thanks for any help

Hey all thanks for all the replies been busy with work so not had chance to reply, due to getting a puppy she lowered her budget slightly, I managed to get an i5 1104f bundle on here for £249 and the rest I got decently discounted to so managed to get the whole lot for £420
