Currently running a q6600 @ 3.2ghz, abit ip35 mobo, 4gb ocz ram, ati 4870, 620w hx modular corsair psu, haf x case, tuniq tower cpu cooler, 90gb ocz ssd. I've been planning on an upgrade for a while just havent fully been driven to it yet. Im looking to upgrade to the i5 2500k oc'ed bundled first then upgrade my gpu in a month or so.

I play a lot of games / watch movies on my pc and do some video edditing. I primarily play WoW on it (dont judge me :P). Im currently playing on low settings with mediocre fps in raids which does struggle at times especially under fraps load. Im wondering if buying the bundle before the gpu would give me a substantial fps boost to play on ultra with high fps, or vice versa. Or whether my card will "bottleneck" or w/e the cpu. I know ideally you want a balance of hardware and not a low end component with a high end one, but sadly cash restraints etc.

The small print on the oc'ed bundles say any changes to the bios will void its warranty, does that apply if I simply just change the option for AHCI for my ssd?

Is it possible to request some changes to a bundle, like add more ram to is or would is "slow" down the oc?

There are two bundles out atm, which would be the better of the two, the gigabyte or the asus one?

I can wait a bit longer for an upgrade if there is anything coming around the corner soon, but there still will be a gap between purchasing bundle and gpu. Reading theres been some issues with sandy chips so thought there maybe a "revised" version or somat out soon.

Had a couple more questions but minds gone blank while typing this thread lol.

Any help would be ace, cheers.

My nets fine, i get about 20-22 out of the 24mb, live close by the exchange. I do tend to fraps a lot and record combat logs etc yeah go figure take up a lot of cpu usage. Gets tad annoying to start chopping in the middle of a raid. I guess i can not log nor fraps but yeah id rather not stop :P.

Might go for the bundle or praps dive int he savings and buy that and a 6950. Anyone know about the other questions btw, the warranty thingy / additions as mentioned above?

Heh forgot about my own thread. Yeah its running at 750mhz. Im gonna go ahead and buy the cpu bundle first, though im probs gonna buy the individual parts and OC it myself (rather beg for help on the OC section :P), save a bit of money.

parts came in today and started building and I thought I was finished. However when I put the power on, there are no LEDS on the motherboard lightning up. Both the 24 and 8 pin power connectors are in and everything seems connected. I can press the power button on the case + mobo and it would start booting for a few secs then off then a really short boot, shuts down again then a few secs later the cpu fan goes crazy on full speed doing another boot but nothing happens, no post no nothing.

Any ideas would be awesome.

rams been seated properly checked it a few times now. ive tried three dif gpus in both slots all act the same. I dont think I have bent any pins on the underside.

managed to get it up and running. Aparently i was blind enough to not notice the 8 pin extension which was the cause, dunno why really was working fine on old setup. Ive run into a few other issues though.

I noticed at default my ram was running at 1333mhz, so i upped the ratio to 6 to make it run at 1600 and upped the voltage to 1.5 from the default 1.47 but the pc wont boot just cycles fast short boots, havent altered cpu multi or anything else except turning off EIST. Did I need to change any other voltages?

Also while I was buiding the pc i unplugged everything from the psu and only noticed that one of the 6 pin connection on my psu (Corsair 620watt hx) has come out slightly and I cant push it back in, this causes my gpu to not get power half of the times getting a bit annoying. I bought it 3 years ago, says 5 years guarentee on the box, guessig it would be poss to have it replaced or something?, would I have to contant corsair directly or go through ocuk folks?

Cheers
