hi everyone i recently got a alienware x51 with i5 3450 and im going to be moving the components into a new case and was wondering if the 3450 is still a good processor to have? or should i do a new build with haswell? i do abit of gaming/watching movies etc just need a bit of guidance

my setup

CPU
Intel Core i5 3450 @ 3.10GHz
Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology

RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)

Motherboard
Alienware 0KM92T (CPU 1) 28 °C

Graphics
BenQ GL2450H (1920x1080@59Hz)
Intel HD Graphics (Dell)
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R7 200 Series

Might just be worth checking that it is an atx motherboard, being Dell it might not be. Most Dells use btx and as such won't fit in 99% of aftermarket cases; not sure if alienware are the same. If the right side of the case comes of when viewed from the front it's btx, if the left side comes off it's atx.

yes think its a 240 series gpu, im actually getting my old pc back from my bro so i will have a haswell again its i3 but im going to upgrade to i5 before/after xmas and upgrade the graphics card aswell thinking of going i5 4430 how that sound for the tasks i have outlined?
