Hi 8 Pack, wondering if you could offer some advice/input on clocking my i5 3570k. Spec is.

3570k
Asus P8 Z77 V Pro
16gb corsair vengeance lp, 9-9-9-24
Alpenfohn k2 cooler

Been testing on the following settings using p95 blend.

121229211220.jpg

121229211314.jpg

121229211329.jpg

The above runs p95 for an hour or so before blue screening, temps maxing at 75c. Thanks in advance.

With this I would enable internal PLL overvolting, disable spread spectrum, set PLL to 1.65v. Also look at your LLC as it looks like its on a very high setting. Nudge up Vcore to compensate on load voltages.

What is the BSOD code? that will help me to be able to advise further.

3B is memory, VCCSA or Vcore.

Adjust the voltages one at a time and see how this goes. VCCSA can go as high as 1.10.

I suggest you select a LLC level such as medium or high no further so as to avoid these Vcore spikes. Vcore at load should be less than at idle Intel builds Vdroop into teh spec for its CPU's to protect them, allow some droop.

Thanks for getting back to me 8 Pack. Im running 16gb of corsair vengeance lp, 9-9-9-24, 2T in a 4x4gb configuration. Probably overkill for what is predominately a gaming system. Would you agree with removing 8gb as i reckon it would help with oc'ing.

On my old x58 i7 920, i found 3x4gb to be a lot easier to work with than 6x2gb.

Setter, I think I may have just cracked 4.5GHz. As I said earlier, I needed around v1.320+ (I stopped at v1.320 cause I don't want to run over v1.3 24/7). So I just dropped my clocks down to 4.4 to keep a low voltage.

After 8 pack mentioned bus overclocking, I read up a little and also upped my PLL a bit to 1.65 and my VCCSA to 0.95. My bus speed is 102.3MHz, vcore is hovering at 1.288 - 1.296, max is 3.04.

All while my temps are around 60, max hitting 69 on one core the rest around 65-6, coolest 61.

Going to keep going to see how high I can get this chip. Thanks 8 pack!

edit 4.6@ v1.344 (not tuned). Temps 74 highest.

Having another crack at this this evening. Set LLC to high, lowered PLL to 1.65 and now down to 8gb of ram. Started with the other settings as in the pics above. Instant bsod on starting p95 small fft. Raised VCCSA +1 from the pic above. Restarted p95, which completed 6 or 7 tests before bsod'ing again. Error codes below.

Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFF8E0009EC9B4, 0x1, 0xFFFFF80002E0F1D6, 0x5)

Bugcheck code: 0x1E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80002CB3D80, 0x0, 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF)

0x1E is increase vcore, and 0x50 is unstable RAM. up your vcore by a notch. What is your DRAM voltage is? I think I'm at v1.55.

Yep, seen the thread with the list of bsod codes that Devrij posted. Upped vcore a notch, ram voltage was at 1.5. Running p95 again, the system disables windows aero then just freezes up. No blue screen.

Disabled screensaver, ran it again, no freeze but bsod with the following code.

0xFC (0xFFFFF8800C1B8D30, 0x800000004B2F5963, 0xFFFFF8800C1B8B10, 0x2)

Tried the following.

bclk, 100
vcore, 1.270, (1.248 at load), LLC on high
dram voltage, 1.55000
vccsa, 1.01250
pll, 1.65
Max temp of 69c

Ran the longest so far, 10mins of small fft. Blue screened again on the following code. Again vcore it seems.

0x1E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0x7, 0x8, 0x7)

Stepping and revision is no wayto tell how these CPU will clock mate. Some manufacturing weeks are better than others for sure though. The only way to tell this is on the IHS or on the Box of retail CPU.

BLK clocking!!! Nice!!!

4.5ghz at about 1.3v is around average for later silicon.

Upping the vcore to 1.275 in bios, (1.256 @load, llc high) allows p95 to run for 45 mins. Blue screening on 0x50 code which points to ram. Dram voltage is at 1.55, vccsa at 1.0125. Whats the max limit for vccsa guys as im gonna tweak it a bit to see how things fare. Temps still maxing at 69c, small fft. Thanks for advice/input so far.

Incidentally, regarding batches. Code for mine is.

Cheers ill give it a try, i currently have the xmp profile enabled, with dram voltage set to 1.55 manually. Sa was at 1.01875.

I take it it's just down to the imc on this cpu, and how much dram voltage it requires?

Bit of progress tonight, settings below.:)

vcore, 1.2900, (1.272 @load, llc on high)
pll, 1.65v
dram, 1.57500.
vccsa, 1.01875

oc2.png

Stopped that run after an hour, temps are up a few c, to be expected with the voltage. And the fact that my shinobi xl case has shockingly bad airflow.

EDIT: Played a bit of bf3, though it froze, had to ctrl alt del, bf3 has stopped working error. Running a gtx 670wf at 1310/7586. Card has been stable for months on theese settings.
