I5 3570k Over-clocking

I was directed to this thread for advice of overclocking my 3570k.

My current setup:

Asus sabortooth z77
I5 3570k
X-fire 7950s
8gb corsair xms 1600

Iv tried setting xms in the bios and it boost ram from 1333 to 1600 and CPU hits about 3.53ghz. Iv read a few guides but I am still a little confused.

Any guides to explain the basic would be great or even some direct help on my mobo would be amazing.

Thanks for the reply, and yes it's "XMP" my ram is xms lol. I'm running a H80i cooler! Iv never overclocked hence I don't want to go in guns blazing and fry anything.

The turbo freq is that the bclk/peg freq?

That's spot on mate would you recommend me maybe running 40 x turbo and neg off set of 0.010 just to make sure nothing goes pop?

Also under full load should I be aiming for about 65 max temp?

Right iv set turbo at 40, neg offset to 0.005, CPU pll voltage to 1.65 and the current capability to 110% and computer switched on and booted to windows so I take it that's a good sign lol

Temps idle on the 4 cores are 27 22 32 30.

So my next set upping it to 4.1? And when should I increase the neg offset???

UPDATE - iv uped it to 4.1 and offset to neg 0.010

under load vcore was 1.206max is that ok?

how long should i run prime95? and would it chuck errors up if there was a problem?

did a quick 5 minute test 0 errors and max temp was 60!

Update number 2 : on cpuz on load core voltage was 1.128 and drops back to 0.952

UPDATE 15 min test everything was the same as picture above max temp was 60 0 errors 0 warnings

How will i know when I have maxed the multi will prime chuck errors up??

And with the vid and vcore is the vcore what it's getting and vid what's required??

Basically iv just read that vid is the number that the bios thinks its needs which is normally wrong at stock vid should increase with increased multiplyer and vcore should drop with neg offset getting the 2 matched means its getting exactly what's required???

computer crashed and restarted itself at 4.3

not sure what happened, vcore was jumping between 1.120 1.128 and 1.136 temp was 60 max after about 10 mins them boom restart

That's what I'm using also running cross fire 7950 so I don't know if gpu will be hammering that psu!

vcore does jump up to 1.136 now and again
