Hello,

I am trying to overclock my first system and need a little advice.

My new setup looks like this:
i5-3570K
Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H
Corsair Vengence 1866
Noctua DH-14D

I have worked it up to 4.5Ghz stable at 1.1v with a peak temperature of 61 degrees (based on 3 and a bit hours of Prime 95 running although I will leave it running tonight for confidence). All I have really changed in the bios is the turbo clock to 45 multiplier and vCore to 1.1.

This is my latest stats:

I have 3 questions:
Firstly does this seem right (this speed with this voltage) as I have been reading around and it seems a little low?

Secondly Core 1 always runs about 5 degrees cooler than the rest, is that Ok?

Finally I only change the turbo speed so it will spin up and down as needed, is there a way to do this with the voltages as well to make it more efficient without using "Auto"?

Cheers
Niall

You must have one Hell of a Chip:eek: there to get those volts and temps @4.5GHz There seems to be absolutely nothing wrong here from what I can see. I cant get anywhere near those results, (to be honest I doubt many can) So I'd keep it like it is.............No Wait! I just noticed on your image that your running Prime version 25.11 Download Prime95 version 27.9 and then post your results once again via image, there will be a huge difference in results I can guarantee you that!

@zepzeppelin: Thanks I have update Prime 95 and you were right I needed to take the chip upto 1.11 to get it stable.

I am currently playing with it at 4.7Ghz with a voltage of 1.2v and it is still maxing out at 82 degrees on IBT and staying under 80 degrees on Prime. Once I have a clear 24 hour prime run I will post screen shots.

You have a chip sprinkled with pixie dust sir !!!!!
Lucky you.

Hold on to this chip mate, seriously! I would be saving for the best custom water loop and pump v1.4 through it. more than likely hit 5ghz+ easy!:cool:

4.7 @ 1.2? You've definitely hit the silicon lottery, I need 1.32 for 4.7.

As mentioned, get that under water.
