hi basically im new to overclocking and had a good read up on the internet to see roughly what i should be getting from my cpu with rough voltage and temps,

firstly i over clocked using cpu level up with asus at 4.6ghz, 1.330 volts, and idle temps of 30c and load temps of 70c during a 3 hour blend test on prime 95 and everything was fine but i wanted to lower volts as it seemed to high

so i then changed it manually to 4.5ghz, 1.170 volts and idle temps of 28c and load temps of no higher than 49.7c and ran it on prime 95 blend for 2 hours and it had no errors or warnings, i even checked windows event viewer and it was all ok,
does this seem ok to you? im not an expert on overclocking but these temps seem really low and the volts seem low to be on 4.5ghz, is there something i need to worry about here?

any advice would be very welcome cheers

its a custom water cool set-up and im using a maximus vs formula mb

Your results are pretty much what I got. I could do 4.5Ghz on 1.16v peaking at 60c on IBT.

You've got a good chip so as long as it's stable then nothing to worry about.

i tested for a further 9 hours and it was absolutely fine
however i downloaded a program tool for my n vidia card and after it downloaded i got the bsod with the unhappy smiley face and that was it all hell broke loose lol, i had to re install my windows 8 from scratch because the repair tool didn't work and i never set up system restore points which was my own fault
wasn't too bad as i only keep my os on the ssd and all other features on my hdd

im not sure if this was down to the overclock or just a fault with my windows 8?
i have big problems trying to install the drivers disk with my maximus v formula board on windows 8 a lot of times after the final restart windows 8 cant load back up and a re install is required FRUSTRATING!! lol
