i5 3570K quick test.

Hi there

We shall be launching IvyBridge at introductory special pricing, were reversing the usual trend of a new product having a high price then dropping, we shall do the opposite, low price which shall go up.

As such 3770k is same price as 2700k, see our website and 3570k more or less same price as 2500k, these are retail and we shall only be selling retail to start with. :)

If the ~£180 is accurate on the 3570K, I may just go for the 2500K and see if performance improves with new batches. The only real improvements I see is better integrated graphics, PCI 3.0 support and lower power consumption. Nothing of which provides me with any real world gains in the system I am putting together.

If anybody can convince me otherwise then please do, but right now I cannot see any benefits in paying more for a chip that will perform the same.

Edit: Damn, I spoke too soon. If the prices are similar then bring on Sunday. :)

seems almost a downgrade overall from an I5 Sandy - considering relative overclocks, temps, price and performance

If this is your reaction to IB I am going to die of laughter when Haswell comes out... it's going to be even "worse" than IB is in your mind and you'll be bitching about that as well most probably.

Processors now though are perfoming well above most peoples needs even at stock so I don't think it's really going to matter too much.

BLASPHEMY!!!!

It is the duty of overclockers all around the World, to clock their CPUs to within an inch of their silicon. You can never ever ever have a CPU which is fast enough. If it was 10Ghz, I would still try and eek out a few extra Mhz.

:p

Lol. Made me laugh :') suppose this is somewhat true people can never have enough speed. xD

Absolutely true, keeping things at stock is boring, why not push things to the limit?
