Slight improvement in Cinebench compared to post#88

Cinebench is looking better. I currently get 5.16cpu points on it which really puts me off upgrading but I have a real itch to scratch!

Do you still stand by the comment you made about regretting getting rid of your SB stulid?

4.5ghz, bclk sorted so its 100mhz exactly and not that silly .9 extra.

Prime95 kept failing early on, or a Bluescreen and restart.

Tweaked the Vcore two notches more 1.320 set in the BIOS, LLC set to high.

Finally got Prime95 to do 20mins (obviously thats still not considered stable but I usually find that a worker stops within 10minutes if there is an issue)

my i5 2500k @4.5hz only needs 1.284 Vcore !!

That's interesting. My 3930k is doing 4.4 GHz at 1.280 vcore (although it drifts up to 1.292 under full load). Cinebench says 12.76 for the CPU.

Considering an OCUK cheap 3570k bundle is less than the price of a 3930k, the bundle is good value. Still thinking of getting one for a secondary PC.

Stulid, I have the same chip running at 4.6Ghz at the same vcore. But my temps are hitting 85C. What case, cpu cooler and fans are you using? I'm hoping if I replicate your setup I can drop my temps further.

No case, using a test bench.

Cooler is a Antec Kuhler920.

I know it means nothing but im getting slated for this oc (not stable to hot, on and on and on) Of course it hotter low 50c idle +90c at full load, IBT (when that happens in general usage), better after a re-sitting of cooler. Its a 130w cpu, this the only comparsion i can find

here goes i7 920 @ 4.5ghz Ht on xfire 7970
