i5 3570K quick test.

Some new BIOS options when used with a GA-Z68XP-UD4

Strange, maximum selectable CPU ratio is 38X with my GA-Z68XP-UD4

More investigation required.

Would you have to disable turbo in bios?

Tried that, also tried adjusting all four Turbo cores to higher values, but cant, really weird.

Must be missing something obvious, havent used this board for awhile and have lost my mojo.

That would be speedstep in action. The multiplier is only 16x (1.6Ghz) so it draws less power.

Would be nice to see some graphics benchmarks from you using the onboard intel hd 4000.

I don't think SpeedStep affects the Max TDP reported.

With my i7-2600K it says 95W when idling at 1600MHz or going full pelt overclocked.

Do you need to do a BIOS update?

Its on F6 which is the latest, cant actually remember ever flashing to F6 to be honest, swear I was on F4 last time I used this board.

Bloody Gremlins messing with me:(

You got any tasty RAM to try with the IB? Interested to see what improvements there are in RAM overclocking.

Its just a spare stick of some cheap tat that I thought would be a good idea to just buy and stick in a draw if I ever needed it.

When your not looking I'll have a rumage through the draw, if that's ok? ...maybe you left a sandybridge lying around!
