i5-430m vs. i5-520m

Hi all

I'm trying to find out some information about the two above cores. It's been hard to find performance figures for them online. Could anyone tell me of any benchmarks they've come across, or comparisons between these two chips.

They're both i5 cores made for laptops. I'm wondering if its worth the £50 premium to get an i5-520m over the i5-430m.

Basically on the 520m you get 140MHz more and 400MHz more with turbo.

I wouldn't pay more for that personally, would barely notice a difference except in really hardcore applications like encoding and stuff...but then who encodes on a laptop?

However if it's a gaming laptop you might want to go for the better CPU.

Its not a gaming laptop. Just for every day use, a lot of multitasking, and long hours of use.

Also the OP should also look at the speed of the hard disk in the notebooks they are looking at as this can also be a performance bottleneck in a system too.
