In work we have 4 Dell Optiplex 3020 PC's that all run i3 CPU's. The were originally purchased for office tasks but are increasingly being used for Photoshop work and are struggling to keep up.
I have looked at the compatibility lists and can upgrade the CPU's to i5 4670's which I can buy for around £50 or so. Alternatively, I can replace the whole PC's for some slightly newer models with i5 7500's for a couple of hundred pounds.
Which would you say is my best option? The Dell's are working well other than the above but part of me worries that if I upgrade the CPU's, the PC's might die in a while due to age anyway.
