My old GTX 560 has failed, so I'm using just my i5-4670k solo until I get it replaced. Whenever I try to load a PC game, my entire system will freeze up and require a hard reboot. Is it actually impossible to do anything gaming related or is there something I need to do to get games working? I realize I'm restricted to the last decade or so with no card, but testing TF2 & Thief: Deadly Shadows both led to freezing. Either when I change the resolution to my native 1920*1080, or when I enter a server (TF2).

Thanks, uninstalled nVidia drivers completely and re-installed the latest Intel ones.

Sadly, the problem remained, but for the benefit of anyone who Google's this in the future, I fixed the issue by flashing the latest BIOS for my motherboard (suggested by someone on a Intel message board from a few years ago).

I'll be stuck with older games for the moment, but I was luckily planning on getting a 970 next month, so no big deal. Cheers.

Did you disable your virtual memory? iGPU will use physical memory as its graphics memory so if you disabled virtual memory your computer may freeze when all the physical memory been taken.
