i5 4690k max volts

You wont get an 'official' answer in all likelihood. The common figure quoted as recommended by a lot of sources (motherboard manufactures, tech sites etc) for a modern Intel cpu is 1.45v max. For day to day use I would suggest working to the max stable overclock achievable whilst using about 1.35v assuming you cooling solution can handle the heat output under load......

Just keep it under 1.4 and im sure youll be ok, a lot of people bench over 1.4 but for every day use i would keep it under that.

If it takes 1.27 for 4.7 i dont think youll manage 5 ghz, my 4790k requires less volts for 4.7 and it take over 1.4 to get 5ghz about 1.42 if i remember correctly, im running mine at 4.8 for everyday use as it runs at just under 1.3v then.

Idd, the voltage requirements goes up expenentially the higher the frequency, so the leap from 4.7-4.8 might only require an increase of 40mv, then the increase from 4.8-4.9 might need 60mv, 4.9-5gh 80mv and so on untill your adding huge amounts of power for very little gain. Thats what ive always seen with my overclocking anyway.
