Hi all,

It's been just over a year since I built my new system due to my old q6600 system finally giving up.

I haven't had a change to overclock but now I have some time to spend doing it.

I haven't a clue where to start with the i5 4690k so any help will be great.

Specs are:

I5 4690k
Gigabyte z97x-sli
8gb ram @2133
GTX 970
Prolimatech 81 CPU Cooler

Main uses for the computer at the moment are mainly gaming.

One thing we have higher clocked memory the XMP profile puts it at 2133mhz but I cant have that profile if I overclock, wont that make it perform worse?

Don't use any of the auto tuning software, my Gigabyte software wanted to put 1.5V through the CPU for 4.5Ghz, manually tuned it and its stable at 1.26V

How did you do Danny?

I've got same mobo and cpu, following the dirty guide I can't suss out what the ring multiplier is on my bios?

Cheers
