hi guys,

got new pc recently (in sig) but after OCing the CPU doesnt throttle back any more, so it seems speedstep etc has been turned off.

any ideas where it is on my motherboard BIOS? so many options and i couldnt see it last night when i checked.

cheers guys

it wont throttle if you use a fixed cpu voltage

you have to use normal cpu voltage and apply extra needed to be stable in dvid

CPU core voltage needs to be set to adaptive mode in the bios (if you have it). Then set additional turbo mode voltage to the maximum value you require (i.e. 1.2v)

managed to tweak windows power settings and all working now. cheers guys! :)

So did you just need to do as I do, set max multi and vcore then make sure balanced in windows?

You shouldn't need to do offsets or change anything from the default vcore option, just flick the switch in hd bios to enable adjustments then set the max vcore you're happy with whilst bearing in mind stress tests and other tasks will bump your vcore.

Mine's set to 1.224 but ends up at 1.236 under certain circumstances.
