Ive been trying to overclock this to 4ghz but keep getting blue screens as soon as windows 7 starts trying to load.

These are the settings im running.

AI Overclock - Manual
CPU ratio - Auto
Speedstep - Enabled
Turbomode - Enabled
Xtreme Phase full power - Enabled
BCLK - 200
DRAM - 1600
QPI - Auto

Anyone got any suggestions or any bios settings i can try?

Thanks.

try read thorgh that it will help massively and also what cooler have you got for it ?
need a lot of volts for what you want i would try 1.4 volts for start 21 multi and 191 fsb turn off all power saving features and try that to start with but only if you got a decent cooler a standard one will not be able to cope with the heat from a oc

I was only going 4ghz because i thought everyone else was lol.

I have a Scythe Zipang 2 cooler.

What is a decent speed to be running then for everyday use and gaming.

Thanks for the link i think i have already read it but will have another read.

*Update*

I just managed to get it running 4GHZ using Memtest and leaving voltages, but prime 95 wont run a test as it was unstable.

I have just used CPU level up and set 1600mhz DRAM frequency and 3.2GHZ and running prime 95, max temp is 59c on core 0

intel burn test will be a good idea as it is a very good one from personal use if that temp is from the asus software dont trust it and use something else instead as mine was out from other software by upto 15 degrees in areas prime says it is unstable you will need to change your voltage auto is never really i good idea tbh form experiance i say set it yourself on that website it tells you what they did to get 4 personally i think 3.8/3.9 is best and a lot more effecient but i am one of these people i do it just cus it can tbh

have mine clocked to 3.7, its stable and more than enough power for everything I have thrown at it so far. Temps sit idle at around 30 degrees and get upto 50 ish while gaming.

I am using coretemp to check my temperatures. I will give intel burn test a go.

Working fine, thanks :). Stress test temps are 10c more but idle is around the same, is that ok?

Stress test is hitting 71c

yep thats around what mine hits on benchmarks, but tbh its very very rare in everday use that you will hit 100% load so wouldnt worry too much about top line temps, run some games tasks whatever you use the pc for everyday and leave the temp monitor running in the background you will see you very rarely get up that high during day to day usage :)

OK, thanks a lot mate, really appreciate it!!!

Just run Intel Burn test on maximum for 5 runs and got 72c max
