i5 750 Overclock no longer stable with more ram?

Hi Guys,

It's been absoloutely years since I messed about with my rig overclocking and tbh I've forgot most of it!

My i5-750 still going strong at 4ghz however when recently adding more memory my overclock seems to be a little unstable. It will sometimes struggle to boot properly into windows without bsod and sometimes my bios fails when starting.

What could be causing this, all I added were more memory modules of the same brand.

what motherboard? chances are you need more memory controller voltage with more ram

its an MSI P55-GD65

Have you filled all RAM slots? That can sometimes be a stress to the memory controller and cause instability.

no idea what its labelled as on msi

might be called dram/vtt or qpi,could try with around 1.32v

CPU VTT was already on 1.325 have increased a few notches will see if that will help, CPU overclock was rock stable before.

It's down to adding the extra memory

Yea thought it might be! I think you may be on the money with VTT.
