Hey guys,
I have an i5 750 that i bought used and put into a P7P55D LE. I've been trying to install windows and not had much luck, i get a BSOD as soon as windows has loaded files and then begins to startup basic services.
RAM is tested ok in memtest, and I've tried booting minixp into RAM only and i get a BSOD also, indicating this must be quite a low level problem.
Looking up the error code suggested a processor issue, so i disabled some cores and found that it installs ok when only using 1 core (core 2 itself seems to be at fault, but unfortunately this mobo won't allow me to individually select which cores to run, so i can't run core 1,3 & 4 for example.
I then tried lowering the clock speed to half (now 1.33ghz) and its fine on all cores. So it looks like its unstable at stock, at least with all cores enabled.
Do i just up the volts to try and get it stable? If so, how much is too much for this processor?
