ok just got rid of my q9550
so new builds up and running
heres the spec

intel i5 2500k 3.30GHZ
gigabyte z68-ud3p-b3
8gb of geil ennhance corsa ram

was wondering if someone could help me set the board up as nearly everythings on auto, running 4ghz slighty overclock
only voltage ive adjusted is the vcore which is set in bios to 1.225 and dram to 1.495 everything else is set to auto, i know nothing about the i5 boards and options so any help would be handy
thanks. posted in the wrong theard before

see u from aberdeen dude am not far from there, new build 1 day only and already struggling to understand stuff was fine on the old quads :)

Haha small world, where abouts are you?

Overclocking on sandy is pretty simple depending how far you want to push it, what clocks are you aiming for?

Thats a nice voltage for 4, you should probably be able to get it towards 4.5 for no more than ~1.3v.

Ah cool, live in garthdee work in bridge of don :)

ah sweet its the voltages and all the things i dunno what to adjust
all ive set is the mutiplyer to x40
left blk at 100
and set vcore/dram voltages everything else is auto
yeah what u work as m8
and u gettin bf3 ?

Aye, work as a mechanical engineer, you?

By all means add me up on steam: pgi947

if thats the voltage on auto you should be all means be able to reduce that quite significantly on a manual setting. It will probably bottom out at around 1.21v, but your chip will easily break 4.5-4.6, so why not aim higher, thats what the K series were made for :D
