Are you planning to overclock?

If so, you'll need a better cooler than you get with the CPU.

i wasnt planning on it really is the i5 really for overclocking only? should i choose something else?

i guess if i did decide to overclock i could always purchase a better cooler.

notes taken about the power supply have changed for the

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-026-OC

also the graphics card im not sure about the one i chose vs the ATI HD4890?

Not at all. But you ARE on overclockers.co.uk, so we have to ask the question. ;)

I've just ordered one myself, but I will be attempting to overclock. It's a good chip, either way.

im on overclockers as i kno abit more then the idiots at pc world and currys :o

but not as much as you guys ;)

so with the new power supply

what you think?

any thoughts on the graphics?

and all the componets will work together when i try and build it? no explosions :O

Looks like a good spec to me :) You should be fine with a 400W PSU, but it's always nice to have a cushion in case you add anything else later, so up it to 450 or 500.

Any particular reason why that mobo? There are cheaper ones available... (eg. Gigabyte UD2 (micro) or UD3)?

You could do what I'm doing, get a crappy GPU and upgrade later.

I would say go 500W just to make sure, but as long as thats all your getting + no overclocking, you should be fine :)

++ The 5770 is said to be a DX11 "4880" really, half way between the 4870 and '90 for performance, but with DX11, so its good :)

not really i guess

changed it for a ud3

spec below

a few n00b questions

will the Mobo fit my case?

does the case have fans preinstalled? or do i need to get some additional ones?

is PSU ok, power and number of connectors?

any upgrades that could changed the build dramitcally for around £50 extra :)

thanks

is there any reason why this build would not work?

is it good?

scared and excited about my first ever build!!

thanks

last thing before i order?

as im n00b im assuming that my gfx card needs its own power socket?

does the psu i selected supply this?

any tips for n00bs when building

Read the sticky, it contains everything you will ever need to know. Also read the mobo manual like a bible when you are connecting things, do not miss anything and take your time. It's a relaxing / enjoyable experience when it all works!
