hey all, me dads got a customer for a machine. was going for this:
asus p8z68v gen 3 137.99
i5 2500k retail 184.99
crucial ballistix sport 8gb 37.99
antec 300 gamer case 49.99
antec truepower 650w psu 72.99
ocuk oem dvd rw 22x 17.99
total: inc vat: 516.04
Opting for antec case and psu due to the 15% saving on the total price when a case and psu are purchased together.
what im wondering is will the onboard graphics on the board and the intel hd graphics on the i5 2500k be as good or better than that of a dedicated card such as the gt520? he will not be gaming at all, but wants a pc that will last him years to come, and lets say money is no object to him, but he does not want an i7. this is why we opted 2500k. will the graphics be enough?
thanks

SLI / XFire? - not required.
Better Overclocking Ability? - not required.
PCIE3 GPUs? - Not required.
Blutooth? - Maybe.

Although it is a nice motherboard :) The original build does seem a little OTT for the usage, 'but' the 2500K is a great CPU, at least it will be still relevant for a a few years. Isn't the build missing a hard drive?

thanks, yeah hes going ssd and he has a 500gb hard drive (sata 1 though, using for file storage, 120gb adata ssd for boot drive and fast loading apps he uses such as office, onenote, microsoft works etc. plus a couple more.
I thought it was OTT for his usage, he is 80 for christ sake, he even said the warranty on the products he has will last longer than he will! lol. but he said hes got enough money to live with, (basically hes rich lol) and wanted an ultra quick pc, he was quite happy to go to A pre built pc store and pay 600 for a crap spec machine, so thought we would build him a monster machine for 700.
thanks for the advice but already bought the board, plus why not pay 30 extra for a much better, higher quality board? :P
