I will be building my i5 2500K system over the Xmas period and i'm just wondering what safe overclock I can expect with these parts: i5 2500K, Asus P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 motherboard, Corsair Vengeance (2x4GB) DDR3 and a Thermalright Ultra heatsink (I have a bolt through kit on order). These parts will be going in my TJ09 with Corsair TX650 PSU.

from what I know and what I have achieved, I have 4.6GHZ overclock and I know that you can easily get them to 5GHZ on air, all thought it's not recommend doing 5GHZ on air and all the time.

entirely depends how hard you are prepared to push it, and how much time you've got to spend doing it as opposed to actually using your pc.

I have mine on low volts at 4GHz but it's stable and wasn't hard to do at all.

Yeh, I just want a nice easy and stable overclock without spending too much time on it. So I guess 4GHz is pretty much a doddle on these then?

i have got a new rig coming: i5 2500k on a gigabyte z68ap-d3 mobo and 8 gig of kingston 1600mhz ram, 60 gig sata 3 ssd and 1 tb hard drive.

is it easy to overclock? i understand there is easy stages in the bios. is it a case of selecting say 4ghz and the system does it all for me?
