Is it worth selling my current parts and upgrading to a new motherboard, cpu & memory?

Current setup is a Gigabyte P55-UD5, 8gb ram, i5 760@4ghz

I also have a Crucial M4 SSD

A new motherboard would be able to fully support the SSD, however my system seems pretty darn quick as it is so my just be upgrading for the sake of upgrading

Crysis 3 plays at 60fps average in 1440p (2 x GTX670)

Cheaper option would be 1155 i7 (2600k, 2700k or 3770k) and mobo(P67, Z68 or Z77) from the MM. Use your existing ram. Then sell your 760 and mobo.

This sounds like a pretty sensible idea. Would those motherboards support SATA3 and USB 3.0? I also have a Xonar Essense ST (PCI) soundcard, do newer motherboard still come with at least 1 PCI slot?

Yes.

You just need to check the specs on any of the boards that interest you. Also, as you are running sli 670s, check the mobo layout as to where the PCI lanes are situated. The Asus sli capable boards are worth looking into, usually have a good layout.
Just keep your eye on the FS forum and maybe open a Wanted thread

Cheers. Looking at this motherboard - Asus Maximus Formula V Z77

It looks like it doesn't have a PCI slot, what is '1 x mPCIe 2.0 x1 (on Combo Card)'

Not much point in getting a board that doesnt support my Soundcard (unless I can swap it somehow with a PCIe one)

How come you don't have access, you meet all the requirements.

The Asus Z77 A is a decent budget board, with sli capabilities and 2xPCI slots located at the bottom of the board. Ideal for your circumstances.
Read the review.
