Jump on over to the mobo page and just filter it to 1156, there's about 10 or so choices if I recall. Browse through those 10 and eliminate the ones with features you don't need or want.

Pick new memory based on the mobo. Also you might want to spring for a 5850, they're excellent value.

I don't like speccing for people since it's impossible to guess what they'll need. Personally I have an Asus P7P55D with Corsair memory, but like I say it's largely down to what you need from it.

Thanks for the reply but thats the thing i dont know what features i need or dont need i intend to use the system for gaming surfing and watching films.

MSI P55-GD65 comes with Xfire support and is generally considered to be good value, cheaper than (I think) all of the other manufacturer's boards of an equal spec. Start there.

Check the gigabyte UD3R or the ASUS P7P55D for cheap budget boards, from what I've read these are decent boards and people can still achieve decent overclocks for a cheap price.

If you want a board with all the bells a whistles check the EVGA P55 ***, all the comments on this board are very good. There's a guy on here which easily hit 4GHz with his i750 chip and on various other forums people are getting good results with the i860 as well.

I just build my new system i7 860 + geil 2133mhz ram + MSI GD-65 and i must say its great, i would recommend the MSI board as its great far supiror to my old board and the OC Genie sounds great :) waiting for 1156 H50 bracket b4 i press it though :)
