been looking to buy the Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz Overclocked Bundle,i was going to buy it at the end of the week or next week tops, but it gone up by £40 and now should i wait to see if it drops or should i buy before it goes up again?

Don't think it will drop again.

It's all do to with supply and demand. There is a massive demand for these chips now, and stocks aren't phenomenally high, so retailers are charging more and more :p

Yeh I've been watching the price of these SB chips and they are all over the place. The price today on the 2600k has changed like 3 times. £290 early this morning, then to £264 and finally to £275. Don't buy tonight though, 'this week only' is refreshed tomorrow and I'd be surprised if it wasn't on there.

The "low stock and high demand" is artificially created, they are just trying to draw desperate people in who need the new tech now. I was going to buy one but cba to be taken for a mug, but they are cheaper elsewhere and thats probably where I will get mine instead now. Going to be buying on the 9th of feb hopefuly.

Seeing the price hit £200+ has well and truly put me off compared to release price. I'll stick the money in an account I wont access and wait til they drop again. They were great bang for buck when they first released, but £209.99 is slightly over my budget, whilst still being great bang for buck. Cant blame retailers though.

Ocuk were the cheapest when it was the lowest, they currently aren't but wait for stock to circulate a bit more - don't get taken for a mug at the prices they are everywhere at the minute.

Thank the lord I got my oem 2500k at a really good price. I didn't need the reference cooler anyway so it was win win all around.

do a google - a lot cheaper elseware and in stock - think they are taking the mick at the moment ,in a few weeks all the dealers will have them and the prices will drop i recon

mike

Just wait until the other major retailers get stock, which is next week for most of them. The only reason OcUK has upped the prices is that they're (nearly) the only ones who still have stock. They'll drop soon (if OcUK's "supply and demand" explanation is true :p).
