Apologies for steering the thread off topic slightly - I've been thinking over this subject for sometime with regards to recent gaming laptops that either come with an i5 / i7 - in this case the Asus ROG variants which I've had an eye on. For instance, one will come with the i7 6700HQ complete with a 1060 3GB, but the other which has the more meatier 1060 6GB but only comes with the i5 6300HQ. Debating over the graphics card isn't so much a concern as I'll be sure to take the 1060 6GB every time but why is it that I find nearly all the 1060 6GB variants of these laptops only come with the i5 6300HQ? (The i7 6700HQ + 1060 6GB config is however available but only on the most expensive examples which are a good £400 more than the widely available variants).
In the instance that it is a gaming laptop, I was under the general assumption that the i7 6700HQ would perform better every time?
Liam.
