Hi guys :)

My requirements are USB3 and SATA3 (6gbps) in a mini-ITX case. I can't see myself overclocking but will be getting the 3570k anyway.

So, do I get a cheap(er) ASRock z68m, or (more) expensive z77e?

<edit - Just realised there are a couple of h77 boards too.. minus the overclocking but with the IB plus points.>

The z68m is apparently compatible with IB, but requires a BIOS update.. anyone guess the risks of a new board having an old BIOS? I have no spare parts I can chuck in to update it...

thoughts and suggestions appreciated :)

Thank you beejjacobs :) I should have deleted/updated this post really as I do now have a nice z77 itx board at home! You're right I think it's just simpler and easier too, and in the grand scheme of things not too many more pennies.
