Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. i5 or i7 for gaming?

In short for gaming
If your going to run a single video card and no sli / xfire config then go I5
if you want to run SLi or Xfire go for the X58 board
Why ? X58 has 16x PCIE on each lane and P55 has 16X lane but when running 2 cards X58 stays at 16X per card and I5 (P55) drops to 8X lane.
but with all thease duel GPU cards coming out who gives a rats arse
if u want Xfire get a 4870x2 or 5970 295GTX etc.
