I am looking at building an ITX build. I can't afford the top CPU's. Which is the best to go for for gaming and general PC stuff?

i5 Quad or i7 Quad? Under £200

I also got to decide on a GPU too. Will this be determined by which CPU i go for as not sure if either 960 or 970. I prefer Nvidia.

If you can afford it get an i5 6600k a z170 board of your choice and a 970. The 960 is a big step down in performance for not a massive amount less than the 970. A z170 board will give you access to up to date features such as full bandwidth m2 and an upgrade route to an i7 kabylake cpu down the line

general rule is I5 is for gaming and then the I7 is for video editing and software that require the extra threads.

unless you get a second hand I7 you will not get one new for £200, the Skylake I7 is £319 on its own
