i5 or i7?

will this debate never end! I read somewhere that 'certain' games were becoming more core dependent so went for i7 6700k, just in case. There is nothing worse than skimping on something only for it to become a problem 12 months down the line, I did it once with HD 6950 1GB, saving £30 on 2GB version... BF4 came out and I ran out of VRAM, won't make that mistake again!

in that case would the best option be x99?

skylake i7 just use the left over power from the 4 cores to drive an extra 4 threads, wouldn't 6 cores be better.

cheers guys, decided to go the route of skylake primarily due to the eurogamer vid yashiro posted
