Hey Dudes
I have only had my i5 760 for a week but over Christmas I am going to see if I can overclock to around 4Ghz as that seems to be the mark to hit with them. I am currently running 2 x 2Gb XMS3 but I was looking to get another 2 x 2Gb XMS3 to pop myself upto 8Gb.
I know people are going to ask why, but with all the 3D work I have been doing lately, excluding all the film editing, high resolution picture editing and general tasks like that I think I will need it. I used to top out my 4Gb Ram in my old Q6600 system a fair bit when I had a fair bit running at once.
I understand that having 4 sticks is a harder on the memory controller then 2 sticks, but how much harder and how limiting could this be? I would rather overclock to 3.8Ghz then 4Ghz and have 8Gb ram, then the other way round. Obviously the cheap price on the ram this week is helping tempt me more.
So yea...thoughts?
