i5 overclocking (1156 socket)

iv got a gigabyte p55 ud5 with an i5 with a corsair h60 water cooler
its at 3.6ghz stock volts atm.

what can these be taken to reliably and how do i do it?

i5 750/760 will hit around 4Ghz easily enough. My 760 needs 1.2875v for 4Ghz or 1.35v for 4.2Ghz.

thanks for that iv got 1.4v and 4.2 ghz atm il keep an eye on temps

Had to play around with board voltages as well.

IMC 1.12500v
CPU PLL 1.8625v
PCH 1.0875v

Everything else is set to minimum (not auto) voltage. I would try to trim that 1.4v down a tad too. It would probably be able to be lowered quite a bit by running at 4Ghz. It's not as if you will notice the extra 200mhz anyway.

i dont know what any of them are lol

its been fine for a few hours and the load temps dont reach 80 so il see how it goes

ps long long term reliability isnt that much of an issue because iv just bought a new mobo ready for ivybridge processors
