Good overclocker or not i'm going for one at the prices they will be at.

Who knows you might strike lucky and get a great overclock, besides 4ghz is not necessary for games so its still a good deal for me!

£162 is the price Im seeing. Im wondering whether I shoulda waited on buying my Phenom 955 rig...At a budget of £550 what do you guys think?

I would wait a few days until the i5 is released. The EU launch price is circa 175 euros. I can buy one here in Germany for that, which is approx 155 pounds and we have 19% vat. So the vat free price is 130 pounds. With your 15% vat, you should pay no more than 150 pounds! Any thing more than that is a rip off IMO.

A cheap motherboard eg, the GigaByte P55M-UD2 is 90 euros here. So after Vat and currency adjustment, should be 75 pounds. Any more IMO is a rip off.

So total for i5 750 and mobo should IMO be 225 pounds.

I bought it yesterday lol and it came to about the same...£150 for 955, £71 for mobo...now to see if the i5 can compete with the 955.

Just out of interest where are you writing from? I assume it's not OcUK as you'd be a mod, and if it's not then you definately shouldn't be posting your prices or store info on these forums...

Nah! There's no prices or store info written anywhere and besides, I'd say, i'm an avid fan of OcUk. All the stuff in my sig are sourced from them. The "Teaser", oohhmm?,,, nah! That's priviledged information. :cool:
