i5 processors OcUK Stock Available ?

To me the prices they are selling at on there makes me think I might as well just pay the bit more and get i7 instead of i5.

Well i5 is on for £160 odd isnt it? Its the combined cost more than anything else, i7 needs triple channel RAM and i7 mobos are a more expensive.

I haven't seen any of these boards supporting 16x 16x PCI-E yet, they all have 16x 8x. Does anyone know if there are any motherboards that have full bandwith as I will be going sli or crossfire when the new DX11 cards are out?

I don't know. Some people are saying that the P55 chipset can only support something like 24 lanes, but i thought that motherboard manufacturers could add more to work outside the constraints of the chipset. Either way it's no real performance difference.

Hmm the low end 1366 i7 set up is looking more and more tempting tbh, £200 for cpu, £90 for memory, £140 for mobo = £430.

Compared to midrange i5 £164 for cpu, £70ish for memory, £126 for mobo (middle one as quoted above assuming you can't blag or don't want an msi on the cheap) = £360.

A £70 saving, not sure its going to be worth it for some people, its certainly making me thing twice.

you may well be right, its only going to be worth it for me IF i can get myself an msi mobo on the offer they are doing, if i can't well i'll either wait and see if the prices drop in a week or two or go for a "low end" 1366 set up.
