I dont see why people are being so conservative, some people spent this amount each month going out enjoying themselves, besides most of you will be selling your old rigs to get some cash back anyway.

Whatever you spend at the end of the day this is going to last you around 2 years, which by that time the next chipset will probally be out i.e P965>>P35>>P45>>P55>> ??

Just spend your money & stop worrying about £20 or whatever afterall it's only a few hours pay lol

Perhaps if you currently have a dual, but I doubt there's going to be much point upgrading from a quad. For example, I could probably sell my P5Q Pro + Q6600 + 4GB Corsair for about £180-200. I doubt that i5 is going to add much over the Q6600, so I'd be paying £100 to get fairly similar CPU performance and an inferior motherboard.

IF you are lucky enough to get a mobo for that. Which i was hoping to do but as i will be in work chances are, i fear, quite slim as i suspect they will all be gone by the time i get a chance to buy .
