Hi,

I have an enermax 600w noisetaker which is the quietest power supply I have had. I want to keep the noise to the same level but think a 750-1kw power supply might be better for an i5 set up.

What are your recommendations?

Thanks

Stu

What is the rest of the system setup? 600w is more than enough for a single GPU system. You only need more if you plan on a multi GPU system.

Thanks chaps;

Set up is i5 2300, 8 gb of corsair xms3 1600mhz, 2 or 3 hard disks one of which will be an SSd, ati hd4500, DVD writer

Thanks mate, very helpful. Your right it is getting on a bit and won't have modern design or components, just trying to save a few bucks

Its also the way it distributes its power, modern PSU's chuck everything on the 12V rails, older style PSU back in the day concentrated more on the 3.3+5V rails.

For the upgrades you want, a 750W+ PSU is the way to go
