H61 is a budget board, you can't overclock with it. You'll need a P67 or Z68 board for that.

Either that or stick with the budget board and get a 2500 rather than a 2500k if you aren't going to overclock.

tbh im not looking to overclock, just something that would keep me going for the next couple of years, my budget is around £250.

well if you go for a z68 broad then you have the possible to upgrade to a ivybridge processor as the ivybridge on socket 1155 is suppose to be backward compatible with the sandybridge z68 motherbroads. so your z68 motherbroad would last you longer than the h61.

saying that i see theres a gigabyte mobo Z68 going for 70 quid, takes me abit over but looks like a buy, one thing i forgot to add was the heatsink paste.

Whatever you decide to do, only get a 'k' processor with a P67 or Z68 motherboard. You can't use the unlocked multiplier on anything else.
