i5 v 8520 gaming

I am going to be strictly gaming, games such as but not limited to, bf4, gta v, league of legends, skyrim, call of duty titles.

Intel Set Up:

i5 3570k
ASUS P8Z77-Z LX2

Amd Set Up:

FX8320
ASUS M5A99FX

Planning to overclock highly with my h100 on either set up.

Both will be running a 7870 by ASUS.

About a 20 pound difference between board and cpu prices when added together.

What do you think i should get? Pros and Cons?

The 3570k and 8320 perform similarly in most games you've mentioned, the expection being Skyrim where the AMD fails miserably. This is down to 'poor optimisation' on skyrims part.. I don't buy that..

All of those games will be playable on a 7870 and both setups it's probably worth going for the cheaper option to save money and maybe get a better/crossfire gpu in the future

apolgies, just that it seems from the many posts it is easier to get a higher oc on the 8320 than the 3570 and at a cheaper cost. if i am wrong i apolgise

8320 clocks higher but the performance at clock for clock is higher with a 3570k/4670k.
