i will need to save up some money before i order a graphics card however i will be using i7 2600k and z68 4gb ram etc. i was wondering if i could run counter strike source with good frame rates?

Yeah, it'll be fine. HD3000s are much better than Intels old IGP efforts.

Make sure you get the right Z68 board.

Surprisingly not all of them let you use the integrated GPU.

Believe so.....it has video outputs onboard per here

That's the key - does it have VGA/DVI/HDMI/DP output(s).....most Gigabyte Z68 boards seem not to
