Can I just go into my motherboard BIOS (Gigabyte) and just change the multiplier to 40... so i clock at 4ghz, and leave everything else as default and not have any problems?

Or do I have to change Voltages etc

Id like to think I could do something simple like that :D - Also if I did this and it was OK, do I have to use PRIME etc? Do they make the system stable or just 'test' it to see?

I mean couldnt I just take a risk and hope that my change worked and if it crashes, then just set to default next time round?

You should be alright tbh, Just don't go too mad, keep the volts under 1.4v and make sure temps stay south of 80c and you'll do fine.

Thanks again for the reply.

I changed the multiplier to 40 in the BIOS - nothing else at all, like the Voltages etc

When gaming the temps reach 70-77... is that OK, as I noticed you mention 80 in your last post?

Might just chuck it back to stock :(

Are you using the stock cooler? 77c sound a bit high for gaming. If you're just going to 4Ghz from stock speeds there's hardly any difference in temperature so your stock speeds are probably not too far off that.
